The condenser is an important equipment for the refrigeration system to release heat to the surrounding environment, and it is one of the four major components of the refrigeration system. The condenser is a heat exchanger whose main function is to quickly condense the high-temperature refrigerant vapor into a liquid and release heat to the outside world.
For vapor compression refrigeration systems, the function of the condenser is to condense the high-temperature refrigerant vapor discharged from the compressor into liquid refrigerant. Condensers are often cooled by normal temperature fluids such as air and water, and sometimes other fluids with lower temperatures are also used for cooling. The condenser is an important equipment for the refrigeration system to release heat to the surrounding environment, and is one of the four major components of the refrigeration system.
Therefore, the quality of the condenser will directly affect the refrigeration capacity and refrigeration efficiency of the refrigeration system. With the continuous development of the refrigeration industry and the rapid expansion of the application area, the types of condensers emerge one after another, the cooling capacity varies greatly, and the efficiency continues to improve. Commonly used condensers can be simply divided into three categories: air-cooled (also known as air-cooled), water-cooled and water-air mixed cooling according to the cooling medium they use.
Air-cooled condenser refers to a condenser that uses the air in the surrounding environment to condense the refrigerant vapor into a liquid. According to the flow mode of the air, the air-cooled condenser can be divided into two types: natural convection type and forced convection type.
Water-cooled condensers use water for cooling. Since the thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity of water are much higher than that of air, the water-cooled condenser has a large condensing capacity and is suitable for systems with large cooling capacity. The cooling water of the water-cooled condenser can be tap water or use river, lake and sea water (seawater is more corrosive), but the quality of the cooling water is better, the corrosion is less, and the hardness is less (it is not easy to form scale). The cooling water can be used at one time or recycled. The recycled cooling water needs to be equipped with cooling towers, cooling pools and other equipment, so that the circulating cooling water can be used again after cooling in these equipment.
Water-cooled condensers can be divided into three types: horizontal shell and tube type, vertical shell and tube type and casing type according to different structures. The water-air mixed-cooling condenser uses two media of water and air for cooling, and combines the functions of a water-cooled condenser and a cooling tower. It is both water-saving and economical, and is very suitable for suburban and rural use. This condenser is divided into two types: evaporative condenser and water-spraying condenser. In fact, the choice of condenser should be determined according to the actual situation such as the size of the heat release, the occasion of use and the water source.
